I always think it's funny when they say people will start marrying their pets and farm animals.

Since anti-gays can regulate whom gays marry, gays should regulate whom anti-gays should marry.
I'm straight and always have been, but when it comes to issues like this, equality is such a joke. And not a very funny one, either.

Gay marriage supporters are trying to force the view of a small minority - estimated at 2% of the population, on the remaining majority. Because it is also a question of morality, it goes against the culture and basic morals of our country. This is not an issue of personal rights. It is an issue of forcing the majority of people in this country to go against their moral conscience, and an attempt to tear down and remake our culture.
I am actually getting sick of the whole gay marriage thing being shoved in my face. Personally I DON'T CARE if gays or lesbians want to get married or not. What business is that of mine anyway?
But I'll tell you this.......people like YOU who sit there all smug talking about how this is going to be the law of the land whether I like it or not? Almost makes me want to vote against it. Here's a novel concept: get government out of the business of marrying people, and it will be left to religious institutions. You think people who are into polygamy care if the government says a man can't have multiple wives? Their dedication is to God, not the state. So ought be marriage. If you promise God, your family, and friends that you will spend your lives together, and raise the children you produce, that ought be all. The only time the government ought to step in is when the contract you made with your significant other or others is broken (i.e. divorce, and the mitigation of assets). We'd never have to talk about this subject again, unless we were talking about religious doctrine and the right of association in a church that preaches against homosexuality.

When gay marriage is forced down the throats of the people against there will expect discrimination and hostility to grow exponentially.
I couldn't care less if Adam and Steve want to set up house and be a living joke myself...that is their burden to carry.
This makes no sense. Why not also lower the age of consent so pedo's can date 12 yr old. Why allow only one perversion. And what about those lonely folks that love their pets? Or the polygamy crowd. Freedom should be for all.

I was figuring that with the new law, I could divorce my wife and marry my Dad, inherit his money when he dies without any tax, then re-marry my wife.

IMO our laws should ALL be gender neutral unless government can show come compelling reason for making them gender specific.
And so??? The world has evolved to this date without same sex marriage so why fix something that is not broken. No reason that I can ever think of, nor anyone in their right mind could list.
The reason this issue is still an issue is the gay community wants to shove this down our throat, they had better watch out.
