What is the normal amount for paying minister for marriage ceremony?

The honorarium can be as little or as much as you wish. If you are a member of the church then more than likely you aren't obligated to pay anything. My brother is a pastor (Methodist) of a mid-sized church and he receives any where from $100 - $300 per wedding. You have to consider that he meets with the couple several times for counseling, planning etc.. and this is generally done in the evenings or Saturdays - time that he could be spending with his wife and kids. He will also be giving up an evening for your rehearsal and most if not all of a day for your wedding.

It's up to you how much you chose to give. You can always call the church secretary and ask what is commonly given for weddings. What is the normal amount for paying minister for marriage ceremony?
I'm paying my pastor $150, plus materials for the premarital class. Just ask if you don't know. I asked mine. What is the normal amount for paying minister for marriage ceremony?
Most will ask for a donation to the church. I've heard of between $100 to $300.
I don't think you have to pay the minister.
