I know it takes 3 years to obtain full citizenship through marriage into the US but when you marry what legal rights are granted to you? If you marry a US citizen and you're an EU citizen, etc will the EU citizen become a permanent resident, same as if they had a Green Card?Can you get permanent residency through marriage?
Having a green card IS being a permanent resident.
You are not going to be granted a green card automatically and you have no rights to it.
You can apply for adjustment of status and then you're either approved or denied.Can you get permanent residency through marriage?
You become a Conditional resident....
