Do you think its ok that miss California is preaching against gay marriage?

i don't think it's a great representation of california.

but that's just my humble opinion.Do you think its ok that miss California is preaching against gay marriage?
She is not preaching against it. She simply answered a question that was asked. Then she was blasted endlessly by hate-filled anti-Christian homosexual bigots.Do you think its ok that miss California is preaching against gay marriage?
I think government should get out of the marriage business - it's private - nobody else's business. Last time, it was on the ballot I voted for gay marriage because I thought the holier-than-thou crowd was trying to use government to force everybody to agree with them. But now the other side looks even worse.

Miss California said she was glad people had a choice, but for her personally, marriage is between a man and a woman. For that she was blasted by the Miss America and Miss Callifonia organizers.

The Miss California incident has almost changed my opinion. Now it seems that the most virulent thought police are gays. Apparently gays don't respect the opinions of other people.

But really it's not all ';gays'; who are wrong in this issue. It's Donald Trump's disgusting ';beauty'; contest. Next year, I will watch it, just so I can write letters to the sponsors telling them why I will boycott their products forever.

Later:

In light of his decision this morning, I guess I owe Mr Trump an apology.
She was hardly preaching, and it was her opinion, not a platform. If he hadn't wanted to hear her opinion, the judge shouldn't have asked for it. I have nothing against gay couples, but that judge was trying to make gay rights an issue in a pageant that was never about gay rights. He's the one that should be under fire, not her. This whole thing is absurd, and I'm just sorry she's being punished for that judge's bias.
charley giving your opinion on something is not preaching against it. also to say that she does not represent the majority of californians against gay marriage would be false since it has been defeated how many times by the voters. it is the liberal courts that keep bringing it back, not the voters.

i am more opposed to the fact that she is lieing about the photos. i have seen the images in question and as a photographer i know she was posing for those images. i would further state that she was very comfy in the different wardrobe's with her boobs sticking out. if she didn't want them showing she should have been a pro and made sure they stayed covered.
What preaching? She simply answered the question. If she said she was for same-sex marriage, then the right would attack her. If her said she was against it, the left would attack her. She was screwed from the start. The day we cannot speak our opinions out loud will the end of America, because everyone is entitled to free speech, even if you don't agree with it, since it's under the First Amendment of the US Constitution, which to all those geniuses out there, is our Bill of Rights.

You can damn well say anything you want in this country.
I don't think that gay and lesbian issues have a place on pageant shows! It's another who shot John thing who cares if you like the same sex that's up to you I think same sex marriage should be legal and I'm sick of all the bull about who can love who! BY GOD LOVE WHOEVER YOU WANT and if people don't like it tell them to kiss your royal red ***!!!!!!!!!!
First, I am a heterosexual married male with a 4 month old daughter so don’t even try the “must be gay” angle.

First on California and what the majority of people believe, have you been hearing about the continually growing number of states legalizing gay marriage? Prop 8 in California was not necessarily the voice of the masses which is evident with the need for a new ruling coming 90 days after the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on March 5, '09. Polls showed that many, many people reevaluated their decision and had a change of heart. Enough people had changed their mind that it is now up for re-decision so don't say that she is voicing an opinion that is along the lines with the rest of the state, that has not been officially established and the majority now believe that Prop 8 will be overturned.

Miss California defended herself by saying that her statement was protected by freedom of speech and was her constitutional right. Well, she does have a constitutional right to say whatever she wants and the GOVERNMENT does not have the right to censor her, BUT, genius, with that right comes the right that every other citizen of this country has to say whatever they want in response to that. If she is going to use that platform to make that statement she really deserves the backlash. In addition to all this she had the amazing quote, ';in my America marriage is between a man and a woman';, not a great thing to say. This not one person’s America. State your opinion, you will get criticized, start talking about your ideal America and you start sounding like Michele Bachmann.

Her answer was read very quickly, that’s right I said “read”. Her answer was well rehearsed and meant to be inflammatory or it was just poorly written. If she did not intend to offend anyone (and just saying that she didn’t want to offend anyone doesn’t cut it), then it would have been written much better. That answer should have been short, sweet, and very soft, but still stating what she was raised to believe or what she believes in general.

I’m very sorry for all those that can’t look beyond the obvious pathetic defenses. The Donald let it fly because it’s in his best interest to do so, NOT because he supports her answer nor her behavior. He is one of the most successful businessmen in the world for a reason. She’s honestly too stupid to analyze her own statements or find someone that can. Her tears today were laughable; I truly hope that she’s not planning on an acting career, ever.

I’ll finish by reiterating that nobody has infringed on her constitutional rights, she is not the voice of the masses, she is not a brave new face of family values. Good luck republicans your days are numbered.
I think we should listen to her, she is obviously a great intellectual, matched only by the likes of Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawkings. Her valiant charitable work should also be taken in to consideration, she is literally saving the world single handedly.

And she is like, er, totally, like, pretty!

*insert sarcasm here*
I don't think anyone should be preaching against gay marriage.. besides the fact of religion or what not aside.. america is suppose to be about freedom freedom of many things.. but see normally all they allow to be freedom is freedom of speech only when they are ok with what is being spoken about ... like banning gay marriage.. but I think anyone should be allowed to be married in the land of free.. if this land is Truly a land of free.. which it is not.. SO no she should not be preaching about it since she has been posing nude.. that i am sure is against her religion is being gay or marrying a gay man is.. SO she is a hypocrite..
It's definitely her right to say what she believes.

But on a broader scale, she is squandering her ';15 minutes of fame'; while simultaneously being used by GOP pundits.

Beauty fades; stupidity and bigotry are less kind and generous to the person as they age.
I do not agree with her. However she does have the right to voice her opinion.

She's also a bigot, which is an ugly thing. But it's her right to be ugly, is it not?

*le sigh*
Honey, there's such a thing as feedom of speech...and she's entitled to her own opinion... That she's 'selling out', however, for the 'biggest bang of the buck' kind of tells its own story, doesn't it...
She wasn't preaching, they shouldn't have asked the question if they didn't think everyone was going to jump on the rainbow colored bandwagon!I give her credit for convictions, brains and beauty.
of course its ok, shes entitled to speak her mind and express her opinion

California itself isn't a good representation of humanity to begin with
She is entitled to here opinions. She has now become the new poster child for the far right and religious right.
Yes: freedom of speech. I think it's perfectly fine that she's exercising her First Amendment rights. Without those rights, Yahoo! Answers may not exist.
she has rights just like everyone else, im not happy she said what she said but its her opinion and we must live with that

she has the right to agree/disagree with gay marriage
She's entitled to her opinion.

But I don't think it's good for HER or anybody else.
miss california ? oh yeah , there's someone we should be listening to................ NOT !
