Are states like Alabama and Mississippi ever going to legalize gay marriage like some of the other states?

Why are they so against homosexuality? Are states like Alabama and Mississippi ever going to legalize gay marriage like some of the other states?
There's people against it everywhere.

I'm for it and I think that every new generation is becoming more accepting. Are states like Alabama and Mississippi ever going to legalize gay marriage like some of the other states?
I don't think being against homosexuality is specific to Southern states. Most states that have voted on gay rights have not legalized it. Most states that have legalized it have done so only through court decisions. So I think it's one of those things that as long as you have people voting on it, no, it's not going to be legalized in pretty much any state, Southern or not. But if/when the issue goes through courts in those states, then judges might legalize it that way and they may not. I do think that, eventually, gay marriage will be legal everywhere, though.
No, you'll have to wait until it becomes federal law. My guess is honestly at least 10 years, because you'd need at least a majority of states to allow full gay rights and marriage before it becomes seriously considered. Six states down, 44 to go. It wasn't until 2003 that anti-sodomy (gay sex) laws were repealed nationally by a Supreme Court ruling.
Those of you who think the dirty south is full of low life bigots do Not speak for every one. Don't know about Mississippi or Alabama but there are plenty of gay couples in North Carolina. I see no reason gays should not be allowed to marry if that's want they want. Personally I think the government should butt out!
Cuz its the diiiiirty south. Its full of oil rigging, cattle having, former slave owning biggots. We all know their opinions.

The parts that are not so biggot have people that the least of their worries are homosexuality. The middle class are just as much biggots as the upper. Except for the metropolitain areas....
They have the worst low lives there. I really think that the whole south region is pretty much the same like that. I am so glad none my family lives there. Iwent there once and it was such a different type of weird backward people there. They are half a century behind us. That is their problem not anyone outside of that area problem.
They prefer to stay in the dark. No lights in the closet.
Its the Bible belt, They're a bit behind the times.
It's called the south. We may not rise again but at least gay marriage will never EVER be legal here.
