People say its amazing that a liberal state like California banned Gay Marriage. But is CA really that liberal?

IS California really that liberal? Isn't this the state that has given us some pretty right wing leaders of the nation?





I don't think that California is reliably conservtative or liberal.

Well when ya consider that the State legislatures in all 50 States





Have banned gay marriage.





That no state has ever voted to allow gay marriage.





Not even the traditional Liberal states like Mass, Maryland , Comm, etc.





The courts over turned the peoples law in mass and maryland, the people didn't !!!





And then you consider that 184 out of 189 countries in the world ban gay marriage.
I think they are the most intolerant state in the Union. Up north they despise any kind of conservative idea, and in the south they loathe any liberal concept. Then there's the Valley dwellers and they are all brain-dead anyways.

I think that maybe gay people got a little bit of blowback from conservatives who were tired of feeling that they were living in ';crazy town';.





I think eventually people will stop demonizing entire states and maybe we can all get along better.
Are you kidding? Their Republican Governor supports gay marriage. You can't get any more liberal than that.
We only hear from the celebrities, who are liberal. They do not make up the majority of the state.

California is extremely liberal





It is the if it feels good do it state.
I live in So. Ca. The cities are Blue and the Counties are red. You here more about the Liberals because of the goofy things they propose here.
Obviously not, Massachusetts is the most liberal.
It votes democratic consistently and votes movie stars into office...sounds liberal to me.
There's only 1 thing I know about California and that is that it's the land of fruits and nuts. nuff said
