US citizenship through marriage or work?

I recently got my green card through my work. my wife is a US citizen by birth and we have been married for 3 years now. when can i apply for citizenship? do i need to wait another 5 years since i had my green card through h1b visa? or can i apply now since i am married to a US citizen for 3 years?

If you have been married for 3 years, then she should have applied for you when you first got married. wondering why did not she do this?
