Will a marriage counselor have to turn us in to child services if my fiance smokes pot?

I am scheduling an appt with a counselor and one of my issues is that my fiance smokes pot. We have children in our home. If she will have to report us I won't bring up the issue. He doesn't smoke in the home but I suppose he is still stoned when he interacts with the kids. Will a marriage counselor have to turn us in to child services if my fiance smokes pot?
Why would you necessarily have to discuss this issue with your marriage counselor?

Marriage counselors are mandatory reporters, that is, their license requires that they report suspected child abuse; physical, emotional, mental. It would be huge stretch to justify reporting your fiance's pot use and call it child abuse unless there is a specific incident in which your fiance has neglected, abused or harmed one of your children because of his pot use.

If you have any concerns about this issue, it would be best to not discuss it with your counselor.

Hope this helps. Will a marriage counselor have to turn us in to child services if my fiance smokes pot?
If your spouse becomes violent towrds you or the children when high, she would legally have to report the behavior but not the reason. If the pot is an issue in your marriage, but is not causing any abuse or risk to the physical safety of your children, then it will not leave the therapists office. I do tend to agree that marrying an addict is not a good idea if you have children. It can certainly cause major issues with the kid's non-custodial parent and could lead to a change in custody if it came to court.
Personally, I would not marry someone who smokes pot. It is illegal, and children will get high from the second hand smoke. I think the states differ on whether to take children away for marijuana. Try to find what the policies are in your own state. Perhaps Google?
He may have to report it. There are laws that require them to disclose such things to the authorities, regardless of privacy concerns. However, he would only have to report it if he feels that it is impacting the children. But this is entirely his decision, so why would you want to risk it?
screw her and break up with her and they probabbly would because pot is an illegal drug and your kids can get second and smoke from it so break up with the pothead
