I agree that if you don't have sex before marriage you are missing out on a LOT!!! For example:
1. Fear of pregnancy

3. Herpes
4. aids
5. Possible abortion
6. And last but not least, giving away your one beautiful gift before you are married. If you have premarital sex, then the gift of your body isn't the same on your wedding night to your spouse. Instead of a beautiful, unopened gift, you have a package that is crinkled, opened, and hastily glued back together. Sex IS a natural part of life! I mean, come on! God CREATED it! But only to be enjoyed between married couples. If there are two people who have stayed virgins until marriage, they don't ever have to worry about comparing their mate's body or way of having sex with another, and since they have nothing to compare to, they CAN BE SATISFIED! They also never have to worry about the possibility of unwanted diseases. God knew what He was doing when He gave us the guidelines for having sex. He loves us and wants us to have ';fun';! secondly, i myself am not fully against sex before marriage, but i do believe that one needs to be in a serious relationship- one where consequences are realized, and can be handled if necessary. i know many individuals that just have beliefs and values of their own, or that they were raised with and respect, that influence their outlook on sex before marriage. many religious people (depending on religion) will frown upon sex before marriage, but i believe that for the most part, it is all on individual belief. some believe that sex should be saved for 'the one' or that it is a sacred act. some believe love needs to be attached to it, and that love does not come along every day... but then again, a lot of people talk more than they do, and a lot of people talk about things they have yet to make a decision about.
I can only speak for myself and I don't agree with premarital sex because Im a Christian and the Bible does speak against fornication. God loves us so much and wants us to saves ourselves for that ONE special person for numerous reasons. This claim is used, whenever discussing gay marriage. But, if marriage is ONLY a religious institution should heterosexuals not be allowed to have civil marriages? I cannot understand that claim. For many many years, in all western countries, heterosexuals can have civil marriages. And religious people can marry in a ceremony conducted by religious authorities.

On one hand, marriage is a three way covenant between two individual and their god. Some religions thing that this covenant can only be between a man and a woman. One the other hand, marriage is a legal contract between two individuals that is enforced by the State. It defines certain rights that each individual can claim over the other. The State can authorize whomever it wishes to see that the contract is signed.

If only those who oppose same sex marriages cannot say as Jesus did ';Render unto Cesar what is Cesar's and to God what is God's.'; I could suggest that we help by simply calling it a civil union. In other words, your statistics do not reflect the actual ';break-up'; ratio of long term relationships that you are looking for.
