thats crap.....I am a Democrat, voted for Obama and am ambivalent about gay marriage. But I think its like extortion on the part of gay marriage advocates to do this to her.

It was one of those damned if you do and damned if you don't situations...if she spoke out against gay marriage, then every extreme left winger would attack her and openly call her a ';stupid b*tch'; as Perez Hilton has. If she spoke for gay marriage, she would have p*ssed off the people against it. And as you know, she is Miss California and California recently voted out prop 8. What I'm sick of are the extreme left wing bullies who scream about freedom of speech, freedom of religion and everything else but turn hypocritical about it when those freedoms are used by people who think differently from them. I mean, come on libs...where's all that tolerance you're always talking about? The hypocrisy is sickening. People shouldn't be bullied for having the guts to say what they feel or believe and idiots morons like perez hilton libeling her publicly (via the internet) should be taken to court and have his a** sued off.





I'm as conservative as they come but part of the beauty of this country is having the right to speak your mind. I HATE hypocrites who abuse our freedoms like they were just handed to them as Christmas gifts and are too stupid to realize the precious price that were paid for these rights they misuse and abuse every single day. These people make me sick to my stomach!! I may not agree with you but I'll defend your right to say it with my life. But these left wingnuts? They'd turn on their own mothers if she disagreed with them. These people are traitors to this country and don't deserve to live here. The same for the extreme right as well. This country doesn't belong to one specific group. It belongs to ALL of us, damnit! I watched the show and could'nt believe that she could of been so stupid, I agree we all have our own opinions, but when you are running for Miss America who is supposed to represent the country you don't ';alienate'; anyone and that is what she did with her comment, there is a time when you keep your opinions to yourself and on that stage in front of millions of viewers she should of used better judgement. Then she has the nerve to say that it was'nt ';fair'; that she got that question, WHAT?? She picked it out of a fish bowl!! It was'nt handed to her by Hilton, what an idiot!! I do believe it cost her the title and to be fair to the hetrosexual community they made her 1st runner-up otherwise I think she would of been last. Also by her saying ';well, in my country';, WHAT?? She's from California!!!! Once again it epitomizes the stigma of pagents, ';No Brains, Just Beauty';.
I am a liberal and I think they tricked her.


The question is unfair if all they wanted was agreement not articulation.


She has a right to her beliefs.





I did not watch the show so I don't know if she deserved to win or not. I am responding to the fairness and expectation of the question. If they wanted only support for their cause they could have eliminated all opposing contestants ahead of time.
He thought because she was from Calif, that she would be a Liberal and agree with him on it, she has her right to Freedom of Speech and im my opinion she was correct!





I will not sacrifice my morals, to be popular and so did she, I think she should be proud

Perez Hiltion was using the pageant as a political sounding block, and when Miss California gave an answer he didn't like it cost her the the crown.





On his blog Perez said, ';she didn't loose because of her answer, she lost because she's a dumb b*tch.';
Look at the judge? Why did they let Perez Hilton whom is about to fall off the top 100 Out gays as he is old news. Anderson Cooper, Jodie Foster, Ellen, Portia de Rossi, David Geffen (worth US$7 billion-self-made). Missing Tim Yap, Ipe Cruz, Eric QWuizon, Bobby Garcia, David Nugent and maybe MVP?
She should know by now that if you are trying to win a contest you need to impress the judges. Insulting one of them is probably not smart. She was going for winning points with the Palin crowd instead of with the judges and she got what she deserved.
She has a right to her opinion. I don't know the criteria for voting for a Miss America candidate, so I don't know the importance of her answer to the judges.
Its an absolute crock that Miss America, a beauty pageant, is selected by her politics. Anyone knows that people that age aren't exactly Einsteins when it comes to politics.
i honestly do not think that she was not chose cause of her views but it is possible, to think politics has invaded the pagents especially opinions rather then knowledge of politics.
It wasn't a smart answer. Who do you think is watching that awful show? Women and gay men. Know your audience
