Yes, I do. Old attitudes are changing all the time and I honestly think in a century or two someone's sexuality will not even be an issue in the UK.
The days when most gays felt they had to repress their sexuality or tried to pretend they were straight are long gone. Society has moved on and the process of acceptance has brought openly gay people into television, film and even into Parliament.
Gays have come out of the closet and revealed themselves to be ordinary people, not the scary monsters out of legend.
I can't see that tide of change reversing its course any time soon. Which means that gay marriage is purely a matter of time.Do you think gay marriage will ever be legalised in the UK?
Glad I could help :)

I hope not. Not because I'm homophobic, but because I don't believe it is the state's right to say who can and who can't be married.
I wouldn't fight for gay marriage laws, I would fight for the abolition of the sate to have any say in the matter. I believe all legal rights and definitions relating to marriage should be repealed. The state should treat all people equally. Young or old, black or white, man or woman, gay or straight, single or married. It's none of the government's business. All that matters is that you are a citizen/subject or whatever you want to call it of that state.
Marriage should be treated as a personal and/or religious ceremony that has no bearing on your rights.
If you mean they will be allowed to be ';married'; in a registration office and get a marriage certificate rather than a civil partnership certificate - if people campaign I am sure it will.
I can't see it being allowed in churches etc. for a very long time but then technically you can't get married in a church if you have been living together beforehand.
I do not think all churches, temples or whatever should be forced to give gay marriages, however i believe that each indivdual parish should have an opt-in to allow them to give gay marraiges. That way no ones personal freedom is surrendered.
Anyone who says that marriage is a union between man and woman because the bible says so. Marriage pre-dates christianity, there is evidence of the |Emperor Nero marrying one of his male servants. The Bible also says;
';If a man sells his daughter as a female slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do'; Exodus 21.7 Does that mean slavery is ok?
';For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a sabbath of complete rest to the LORD; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.'; Exodus 35.2 Shall i be killed for working 7 days a week?
';You must not eat their (swine) meat or touch their carcasses: they are unclean for you'; Leviticus 11.7 Have i committed an abomination for eating my bacon?
I do. Europe is considerably more civilized than the United States, and discriminating against people based on which gender they're attracted to is simply savage and ridiculous. It won't last on the island or the mainland.
And please, no more talk about churches. Your religion didn't invent marriage. Hinduism is as old as any extant religion, and it came up with marriage independently. The Ancient Greeks had it pre-Christianity too.
Good grief; somebody take a history class.
Not as long as the church of england bigots continue to deny that other sexual orientations are genetic and normal.
The house of Lords is full of Bishops, many of whom are closet gays who daren't admit to being gay!
They will always vote against because of the churches attitude, particularly the anglicans in Africa and America!
maybe. honestly i think marriages, any type of them, should be asked by the church, since that's where marriage first came from. also, marriage is supposed to be between a man and woman. im probably going to get like five million thumbs downs, but i don't care if you like someone of the same sex, or go out with them, i just think sex and marriage should be between one man, and one woman.
thanks and to anyone i offended, it's my opinion, you have one that a lot of people probably disagree with too
It really shouldn't concern me as I'm Irish not British but in the North we already have civil partnerships which i am opposed to. The EU are going to dictate new rules soon backed by the human rights charter. That's one of the main reasons i want Ireland out of the EU. It was supposed to be a trade partnership its not for them to dictate human rights to us. No doubt the UK will have gay marriages soon within 5 years. Thankfully Ireland will never allow it north or south. But if your opposed to gay marriages, that's only the tip of the iceberg from the EU God knows what else they have planned.
Not for a while.
The Lords, in the House of Lords are way to pompus and upper class to allow it.
Just take a look at cases to do with homosexuality, i.e R v Brown and Other 1995, and the fact that both parties have to be over 18 to engage in sexual activities if homosexual.
i don't know because like the uk is supposed to be a democratic country and it should be your right and choice who you get married to
i would like it to be legalised it would help make gays more socialised because they are alienated
No
Just my opinion.
I think if a man wants to fall in love with a man or a women wants to fall in love with a women , that's fantastic.
But marriage is between a man and a women.
My views.
Bring on the thumbs down =)
If you mean in church then not until hell freezes over. The Bible states that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for just such practises so what makes you think that the church will be able to change. The rule book doesn't.
definately. just wait for the next generation to come into power
Once they wake up and learn to get over their ignorance, then it will be.
It disgusts me that it's still not legalized.
I do hope so, people should have the choice and support of the law.
I don't see why not. love is love after all.
Eventually it will be. It's just a matter of time.
I hope not.
i hope not but it gonna happen anyway
