Should the Federal Government be Involved in Such Things As Gay Marriage and Abortion?

Or should it be a state-by-state issue?Should the Federal Government be Involved in Such Things As Gay Marriage and Abortion?
The states should be left to decide. A select group of people should not have the final say. For the entire country. There is no right answer the best we can do is let the various states decide.Should the Federal Government be Involved in Such Things As Gay Marriage and Abortion?
I'm against abortion, but I don't feel like it should be completely banned for obvious reasons. Rape, etc. The morning after pill isn't 100% effective. For gay marriage, I don't have a problem with it. If they're in love, why not? Nobody can control the feelings they have or who they love, and it's not ours or the governments business.

';but there could be instances of fraud under same-sex marriages.'; That happens with regular marriages, too.
Nope, we are a federalist nation, and since those issues are not outlined in the Constitution, they belong in each individual state to decide.

The only problem with the gay marriage issue, is the ';Full faith and credit clause.'; Although, it isn't enforced very often, and there are many ways around it.
Prohibition of alcohol wasn't a state issue.

If your state loves bashing the gays and controlling pregnancy for a few months, pass an ammendment.

States' rights is not a Religion. It is a sound principle that is practiced only in moderation and with sound judgement.
If a lady wants an Abortion the my feeling is...you do it yourself...

If you argue that no one has the right to manipulate your body then you must respect the States right for not wanting to...

you can't have it both ways...

Gay Marriages...complicates things. Let's not have it...it will screw up our young...
They should not be a political issues at all. Government should only make laws governing behavior when their is a consensus and not be used to impose the values of a minority or even a majority on matters that do not effect the public good.
Well.. I deplore abortions, but I do think this and gay marriage belong at the state level.

If California wants to legalize both...other states should have the right to keep both illegal and not be forced to recognize California law.
Neither one should be involved in gay marriage or abortion. And I'm a Republican.

I just don't care to hear about non-issues that don't make any difference to my immediate situation, such as whether or not pot is legal.
well, the gay marriage thing is by state sweety.

um the abortion thing is losing human beings so i consider it murder...but on the other hand i think women should have the right to control whats in their bodies...you know?
No. There are already enough homosexuals in the Federal Government and they already kill enough people.
Not abortion, but there could be instances of fraud under same-sex marriages.
abortion--if you want the government in charge of your pussy.
It should be a state issue
no, those social issues should be left to each state to decide.
